Beer reviews with as little hype as humanly possible! I'm a sucker for IPAs and bourbon barrel aged stouts, but I like many other styles!

Pacific Sunrise: “Lemon and clementine citrus take the wheel and drive this hop forward with tropical hits of melon and mango” I’d say I hit these characteristics. #fidensfriday

Thanks again, Ty! “ADHA 218 has notes of sweet fruit, lime, and strawberry.” I didn’t get any lime but I definitely got the other two. A nice hop for sure.

Bourbon 🥃 while my AC is set at 70 degrees
Your welcome for the beer 🍺. That beer sounds really interesting, I do enjoy beers like that one that takes you on a journey cheers 🍻
Still have not tried a Fiden's beer. Can't wait to be there, during the last few days of July. Hoping to snag some Troon as well.
#FIDENSFRIDAY CHEERS 🍻
Gin and Tonic FTW … never knew how delicious they were until I met my wife. Always hated gin, but that magic chemical reaction between quinine and juniper is the most magical of Dr Jekyll/Hyde acts in history … so delicious! If it’s beer Miller High Life forever!
Leinenkugels summer shandy or Sam's summer ale.
My favorite is lemonade Gatorade but I haven't seen the flavor for sale this year yet hopefully it's not discontinued! Just picked up some Narragansett Shandy from your neck of the woods i believe should be refreshing. Also the Funk Shandy sampler....cheers !
Since I work outside daily sometimes 30 40 straight hours I choose water Pepsi for sugar and sodium 1000mg of real salt potassium.Then when I’m off I’ll crush pilsners or cream ales.
fill a pint glass with ice and pour your favorite light american beer over the ice. Miller Lite for me. cheers!
Much like you, water is at the top. However, nothing beats an ice cold glass of iced tea for me. Unsweetened or lightly sweetened with lemon = fantastic. If I were still able to drink beer normally like most other folks, I'd probably have a 12 pack of Genny's Ruby Red Kolsch in the fridge. Such a thirst-quencher when it comes to beer. I guess any sub-5% beer with a crisp and refreshing nature = good enough for me. Cheers, duder!
The most refreshing beer I had was a 3.5 % blood orange kettle sour from Phantom brewing, after a massively hard hike that was stupid of me to attempt in that heat/humidity, so there's definitely some experiential bias there. However, for a standard alcoholic, hot weather beverage, I've really enjoyed Jack's Abby's radlers, and I always try to visit Two Roads at least once a summer to stock up on Table Terroir (a 3.7% table beer / house ale - $6.66 for a 4 pack of 12oz bottles). I recently picked up a 12 pack (12 oz cans) of Snappy! from Twelve Percent (a 5%ager) for $12.99, which is tasty, and fantastic value. That's just off the top of my head.
~~~ When it comes to beer, I find Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier to be one of most refreshing out there. At 5.4% it will not hurt ya. We have 95 (feels like 100) for the next few months. An occasional downpour might drop it down to 75 briefly. Luckily it did that last night and I got to enjoy a stout outside. Gatorade and Cranberry Juice cut with a splash of soda are my NON alcoholic go to's. Excellent topic. Here's to SURVIVAL !!! CHEERS !!! )))))))))))))))))
My go to for hot 🔥 weather is water because hydrat or die!!! For alcohol it's whatever beer I have in my cellar or beer fridge. For alcohol it's whiskey and ginger ale. Here a question for Thursday what is your mount Rushmore of breweries or beer? Cheers 🍻
Eleventeen Miller Lites
Glad you enjoyed it Kyle! Cheers bud
Tequila soda with lime. Was out doing the gutters and grilling this weekend as well
Hey, Kyle. I also drink a lot (lemon) water each day. During a lengthy, hard yard work day I drink water mixed with Honey Stinger powder and also extra water. After yard work or just a hot day my go to is Moosehead lager. But last weekend with the Heat Dome still in play I bought a six of Leinenkugel Lemonade Summer Shandy. Haven’t had it in years, and it was was refreshing! Actually have one left. Haven’t had SeaQuench. If Cocktails are in play, my summer favorite is rum (Mount Gay) with tonic a a few dashes of bitters or straight Mount Gay Black Barrel on crushed ice.
Cheers 🍻
Another brewery I've not heard of. I've also not heard of the ADHA218 in this. So many new things! :) Also, that shirt is fuego.
Might have to send a few Warwick Farm cans out to you at some point. They kill it on variety but their hazies are top notch
The Von Trapp x Troegs is absolutely amazing you’re gonna love it.
Here we go it’s about to get sm💨key. Cheers 🍻
Had me at cookies cream
Been wanting to try some bottle logic for the longest. Cheers 🍻
I’ll have to revisit this and watch my review because I don’t remember getting any of these tasting notes. Haha. Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Yessss you got the rye whiskey! haha i had to go back on your port one to confirm that i commented about the rye whiskey. love it. so good man. cheers.
That whiskey sounds really good cheers🥃🥃
Where did you get that glass? So cool! Hope you’re doing well
I intentionally put the Alchemist can so you would pull it out last. Haha. Also, I think it’s the 3rd batch of the 10th anniversary. Looking forward to the reviews and the hangs! Enjoy! Cheers!
Love it. Cheers 🍻
Had all those bourbons hopefully he paid MSRP for the eagle rare and EH Taylor. This is why living in Ohio is best for liquor purchases.
I got the Eagle Rare in NJ and paid $70. I picked up the EH Taylor in Indiana for $120 or $130.
~~~ I recently had one of the best DDH IPA's I've ever had. As the self professed NOT BIG IPA GUY, Other Half's Double Citra Daydream blew me away. I could drink that all Florida Summer. Nice review. CHEERS !!! ))))))))))))))))))
Cheers 🍻
~~~ Every week is Christmas LOL !!!
EH Taylor and Buffalo Trace are two of my favorite bourbons. Enjoy!
Nice box! The 20th anniversary Heady is amazing! ENJOY!!!
Yea it is! And I cannot wait to try that Heady. So pumped!
~~~ Bottle Logic make good beers. I have a few resting in the cellar (bev cooler). I liked them a whole lot more when they were $25. Currently selling for $33. Inflation you say? Nice review. CHEERS !!! Enjoy that Florida weather LOL ))))))))))))))))))))
Your welcome for the beer 🍺. I got a few more and going to have to drink one soon. Finally found a bottle shop that has a good amount of bottle logic but it's a long drive , for this beer will give it a try. Cheers 🍻
relatively thin to the medianoches of the world lol. EVERYTHING is thin compared to the medianoches! haha cheers man
What an amazing hop combo! Definitely want to try this one sometime. Cheers!!
#FIDENSFRIDAY CHEERS 🍻
It’s been so long since “old school” hops were a thing. That now “new school” hops are almost “Old school” so let’s bring the classics back! Uncover that riddle of a sentence! Ha! Oh and give me more IBUs!
No Hype Beer Mail Unboxings.
garbage compared to the old bitter piney west coast IPAs. ..... these new ones are not bitter or offensive at all.
Slice started the trend in my humble opinion.
~~~ Welcome to the world of 95 degrees. It sucks. Our Governor says its against the law to even say CLIMATE CHANGE............ Next topic ---- most refreshing beer in 95 degrees, CHEERS !!!
I love all these modernizations/evolutions of styles ! The new west coast style is amazing! Same with west coast Pilsners ! Loving those!!
I wonder how the East Coast hazy breweries will evolve in the future like the West Coast guys are doing. Is there anything you can do to hazy beer to make them different? The WC has seen that evolution from the caramel malt town, super bitter, high IBU hoppy beers to the newer lighter malt bill, super fruity hop forward IPA, and the new-ish WC Pils. There are still plenty of old school bitter IPAs out here in CA, but having that new school option is fun. What can the East Coast do to change/progress? Or do haze hoes even care about change?
I think it’s a question of brewing style and what we consider new school hops? Like I know you said you like your hazies with a bit of bitterness, so not necessarily fruit juice in a glass with a shot of vodka! I agree! Is Old School straight C hops? I just brewed a DIPA using Mosaic, Amarillo and CTZ. +100 IBU’s but still a punch of fruit notes, is this New School?
I've had a few of these "modern or new school: westies. They were overall tasty and well made, but they are still too focused on big juice, lower bitterness, and very lacking on the pine. I long for the old days of dank piney palate wreckers. I am burnt out and sick of the fruit / juice bombs with no balanced bitterness. But that's just my opinion on the matter.
Speaking of …did you ever have Palate Wrecker from Green Flash? Lol Agree with you on juice bombs.
Yes, enjoyed it not the wrecker i was expecting, but compared to most today it would seem very forward in the bittering hops profile. Green Flash's West Coast is still a bench mark for me when comparing westies. The great return from Hardywoods was a fantastic westie.
I survived the IBU Wars as well! 😂 Devil Dancer/Founders is the most bitter beer I’ve ever had. Wow. It has been retired. My go to West Coast IPA is Head Hunter/Fat Head. When it is fresh it is unbeatable. We are Day 4 of the Heat Dome in Toledo … high 90F and over 100 “feel like” temps. Yuck. Hope you are able to get Bruno a walk early morning or later evening. Another off-center comment …back in the day, for me, Arrogant Bastard seemed so bitter. But in a good way. I wonder if our palates get acclimated to IBU levels over the years? I haven’t had AB in years, but I bet it would seem tame now.
@@PABrewNews Green Flash disappeared from my market about 6-7 years ago. I was disappointed as I really liked their lineup. As did Port Brewing (Pizza Port?) … their Shark Attack Red IPA was awesome.
The good news, is there are plenty of piny, dank, bitter WCIPA out here still :)
Hmmm this beer reminds me of a warm jizz on my pallet. Definitely a good buy
~~~ Should keep you busy for a while. CHEERS !!!! )))))))))))))))
You got that right!
It won't, idiot
